A message from our Pastor
Sunnyside is a non-denominational Christian church whose goal is to help you find meaning and destiny for your life through a relationship with Jesus Christ. You are welcome to come to any of our services and check us out.
We believe the Bible to be our teacher, guide and source of strength. Let us help you understand it and how God wants to speak to you personally from it. Allow God to challenge you and raise you to a whole new level of life!
I am so glad you found your way to our web site. Browse around and enjoy your visit. If you don’t get all your questions answered please don’t hesitate to call or email us.
~ Eric Batteiger, Senior Pastor
Sunnyside began in December of 1953. Nine people were present for the first worship service. It was the desire of those people to establish a church based on the New Testament pattern. Sunnyside built the current facility in 1987. Through the years Sunnyside has continued to reach out to the Colorado Springs community with the message of the Gospel.
Sunnyside Christian Church has been a body of believers noted for:
- Strong biblical teaching
- Expressions of kindness and generosity shown to those in need
- Faithful and generous support of missions, both at home and abroad
- Solid family relationships with ministry to children and youth a top priority
God has blessed Sunnyside Christian Church! It has experienced steady growth through the years and currently averages 700 hundred attending the weekend services. Together working with Church Planters of the Rockies we recently planted daughter congregations called Discovery Christian Church which is meeting on the northeast side of town, Meridian Point Church meeting in Falcon, and Oasis Christian Church in Pueblo West.
The leadership has shown a willingness to adapt new methodology to reach the lost and minister to those in Christ. Sunnyside desires to stay focused on reaching the lost, "Turning all people into fully devoted, mature followers of Jesus."
Through the years many people have walked through our doors. It is our prayer that they will always experience an atmosphere of warmth, caring, forgiveness and genuine love that can only be found in the family of God.
