What is worship?
Everything we do Exalts Christ but corporately we achieve this during weekend services. The results are a weekly renewal of members commitment to Christ, the growth of relevant services, and decisions for Christ.
Biblical worship is what is needed in today's church. How can we look at our worship services the right way?
God is the initiator and we are the responders. Genesis 1:1 states; "In the beginning was God." As the responders we are called to praise Him for His creation, His provision, and His love that His Son displayed on the cross.(1 Peter 2:9) As stated in the Psalms we sing to Him a new song and play skillfully. God has given us talents which we offer them up to Him with a pure heart. Looking through the Old Testament, multisensory worship is included throughout the scriptures. The act, smell and partaking in the Passover feast, the colors of the tabernacle and the Ark of the Covenant are all examples we can see in the Old Testament. Video and lights are a way of including multisensory worship in today's church.
How can I get connected?
In 1 Peter 4:10, Paul explains that each of us has unique gifts with which we can serve Jesus Christ. Sunnyside’s Worship Ministry is an excellent picture of that truth. Staff members and volunteers utilize unique talents and gifts with technical equipment and intruments to help Sunnyside's worshippers have an unforgettable worship experience. Music is one of the central elements of worship here at Sunnyside. Each week a variety of musicians strive to create a live atmosphere of worship in order to bring each member of the church in the presence of the Father. Volunteers can be involved in the vocal team, worship band, audio and visual.
